Equilibrium

500 days of summer (Marc Webb, USA 2009)

  1. state of equilibrium
Tom works at a greeting card company and he meets Summer. He falls in love with her the minute he sees her but she does not believe in true love.

  1. disruption of equilibrium
Tom and Summer become more than friends, however she would not admit they are in a true relationship and she leaves him.  Tom feels depressed because he felt she was the woman he would spend the rest of his live with.

  1. Successful restoration of equilibrium
Summer meets someone else and gets married, finally understanding Tom and what he felt for her. However she believes that Tom was not the one for her and at the end Tom finds the true one for him

Toy Story (John Lasseter, USA 1995)

  1. State of equilibrium
Woody is a cowboy toy who belongs to Andy. He and the rest of the toys come to live when there are no humans and Woody is Andy’s favourite toy.

  1. disruption of equilibrium
Is Andy’s birthday and he gets a lot of new presents including the newest spaceman toy buzz lightyear. Andy prefers Buzz instead of Woody and Woody gets jealous. They lose Buzz and although he does not like him he stills goes and helps him to get back.

  1. successful restoration of equilibrium
All the toys get to the new house and Andy likes both Woody and Buzz equally and they all become friends.
